Hand tufted carpet is a type of carpet that is made by using a handheld tool called a tufting gun. The tufting gun shoots yarn through a canvas that is stretched on a frame, forming loops or cut ends on the surface. The canvas has a pattern drawn on it, which guides the placement and color of the yarn. After the tufting process is completed, the carpet is removed from the frame and a layer of glue is applied to the back to secure the yarn. A secondary backing material is then added to cover the glue and reinforce the carpet.
